How To Fix Strict or Moderate NAT in COD Vanguard

Call of Duty Vanguard is a new Call of Duty game. It also has networking problems. NAT is one of the issues that causes problems for players trying to connect with other players. Clear pathways are required to allow users to connect to the network. If there are any problems, the game will indicate whether the NAT type is strict or moderate. This can cause problems with voice chat, lobbies and broken game connections.

Open NAT allows you to chat with others, join interconnected VOIP server, host multiplayer lobbies, and so forth. Everything that needs an internet connection.

What are the problems that Moderate and Strict NAT create?

Let’s discuss what Open/Moderate NAT and Strict NAT mean and the issues they can cause.

  • Open: Easily join games, voicechats, host multiplayer lobbybies, and perform other game-related functions.
  • Moderate You won’t be selected to host a game and you won’t have any trouble joining games hosted by other players.
  • Strict is the worst. This NAT type will prevent you from connecting to Open NAT users. You will not be selected as the host for a game.

Open up the game to find out your NAT type.

Changing Vanguard NAT Type from Moderate/Strict to Open

Ports to PC Users:

  • TCP: 3074, 27014-27050
  • UDP: 3074-3079

For PC users

  • Go to Windows Settings > Network and Internet > Status
  • Click on Properties
  • You can switch between Public and Private, one at a time.

NAT issues don’t usually have a significant impact on PC users. I can still play games with Moderate NAT. This issue can be fixed by using our port forwarding guidance.
